Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, has announced the launch of a Fastag-based annual pass on August 15, this year. This pass will cost 3,000 rupees. This pass will only be valid for personal use of vehicles, jeeps, and vans. Gadkari stated that once activated, this pass will be valid for one year or 200 travels, whichever occurs first.
To activate and renew this pass, a separate link will soon be available on the 'Highway Yatra' app as well as the official websites of the National Highway Authority of India and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Gadkari stated that this will allow uninterrupted movement on national highways across the country.
