Sanjay Raut, the leader of the Uddhav faction of the Shiv Sena, wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah about former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
He asks in the letter as to Jagdeep Dhankhar's location, health, and safety.
Sanjay Raut wrote: "I am writing this letter about personal freedom and national security. The proceedings were led by Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar on July 21 at 11 a.m. He appeared normal at the moment and carried out the session as expected.
He went on to write, "The Rajya Sabha's sessions were adjourned for the day following a debate between the Chairman and Mallikarjun Kharge, the Leader of the Opposition. This demonstrates that the Chairman was in good health at that point in time. To everybody's surprise, however, he resigned at six o'clock that same day, claiming medical reasons.
The most serious factor, according to Raut, is that no information regarding the vice president has been available since July 21. It's unclear where he is and how healthy he is.
He claimed that certain members of the Rajya Sabha attempted to reach the former vice president but were unable to do so. Additionally, there was no communication with his employees, which he said was quite stressful.
Senior Supreme Court advocate Kapil Sibal had also posted on X earlier on Saturday, asking questions about Jagdeep Dhankhar.
On July 21, the first day of Parliament's monsoon session, Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned as vice president. He gave health-related justifications for this.
He included his letter, "Giving priority to health and as per medical advice, I am resigning from the post of Vice President of India with immediate effect."
