Floods have wreaked severe devastation in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in Prayagraj and nearby villages. With thousands displaced and critical services affected, the state is dealing with the fallout from this natural calamity. According to government reports, over 80,000 people are now affected, with many living in precarious situations as the waters rise in many areas.
According to Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami, the floods have directly affected 84,392 people from 37 tehsils and 402 villages. The situation is severe, with entire villages swamped in water, forcing residents to leave their homes and seek refuge in makeshift shelters.
Prayagraj, one of the hardest devastated areas, has seen major floods, affecting both rural and urban residents. Many residents are stranded, with roads submerged and electrical lines down, hindering rescue and relief efforts. The floodwaters have disturbed daily life, making it incredibly difficult for residents to obtain necessary supplies.
